MS Blog Hop!!!

Welcome to the MS (Mulitple Sclerosis) Blog Hop

I first want to say that this hop is very close to home for me. My husband was diagnosed with MS in August of 2009. It was such a shock to our family and it has caused lots of struggles in my husbands daily life and in our family’s way of living. He was medically retired from the Navy and we struggle to make ends meet but we still try to stay as positive as we can.

 

This hop is very unique in that all the projects done by everyone on the hop will be auctioned off and all proceeds will go to the National MS Society. I would love to raise as much money as I can for this cause. The bidding will start at ten dollars. If you like my project and would like to put a bid on it please leave a comment under this post with the word BID and how much your bid is for. Bids will close on March 6^th at 8PM. I will contact the winning bidder at that time and give you the details as to how you can make your payment directly to the National MS Society and how I will get the project to you. Now onto my project! For this hop the subject of each card was Movement. I chose to make a spinner card. This was my first time making one of these cards and I think they are such a cool idea for a card! I made a video to show the "Movement" in my card. It has bad lighting and no talking but it's just to show the coolness of the card. :)



Supplies used were the Plantin Schoolbook, Just Because and Everyday Paperdolls Cricut Cartridges, Stampin Up cardstock, DCWV cardstock, Peachy Keen Stamps, White Gell Pen (for the eyes), Black and Silver Ink, Silver Glittery embossing powder, Tiny Star Punch, Martha Stewart Glitter Glue, Glossey Accents and IROCK with the little yellow IROCK Gems.

To make the stars really shiny and glittery I first covered them in a yellow color of Martha Stewarts glitter glue. I let that dry for a few hours and then I went over that with Glossey Accents. Glossey Accents takes awhile to dry. I usually leave it overnite just to be on the safe side. I also used that same process on the words "Blast Off."

P.S. When I first started working on my project I totally forgot that our projects were being auctioned off. So here is a pic of my layout that I made that has "Movement" as the subject but I don't think anyone will want pictures of my son with his grandpa (my dad) on the motorcycle!! hahaha

I heart my sweet tooth

Another belated valentines project for ya!

We went grocery shopping today and the commissary had all their valentines stuff real cheap. My sweet tooth was calling out to buy the box mix of fun-fetti cake and make some nom nom cookies. When I got home I decided to turn the cookies into a really cute fun editable craft.

I used the heart from Plantin Schoolbook and I used my Peachy Keen Stamps

They taste as good as they look and my wonderful Hubby is taking them with him to his gaming night so I don't end up eating them all!! He was embarrased at first because it's a bunch of guys who play Warmachine but he loves me and I'm sure all the guys will eat them all up!

Adding Titles

It's official my cricut was packed up this morning and I took it to fedex to be returned. But last night I spent 4 hours cutting out these letters. Yeah... I'm nuts. I should have just waited for my new machine but I'm totally addicted.

Ahoy Matey!!!

This card was made for my totally awesome cousin Doug. I made his wife (she is my blood relative) a card first the purple squirrel card my first post and then I made his kids cards so I couldn't leave Doug stranded without a card man!!! I picked this cute mini monster because I'm hoping when he opens it he laughs. If I can get a smile then I'm happy.

I used the mini monsters, plantin schoolbook, and storybook carts on this card. Cardstock was stampinup and dcwv glitterstock, I also used some other cardstock that was left over from my sons baby album but I can't remember the brand name. I pop dotted the sentiment on the front and the monster. Now let's get to the pictures!!! muwahahaha!!!

I removed the flash for this picture to show the shadowed effect of the pop dots.
